You work alone, for example in the warehouse in the evening or in a plant room. You start a work session in the app. If you do not respond to a check-in or a detection, or if you raise the alarm yourself, the emergency responders get an alert with your location.

Starting a work session

  1. Open the Presence tab.

  2. Tap Lone worker mode.

  3. The first time, you see a short explanation. Tap Next and then I understand.

  4. If the app asks for permissions, tap Give permission and allow everything.

  5. Under ‘What will you be doing?’, fill in what you are working on. Tap Type what you will be doing, or tap the microphone to say it.

  6. Under ‘Detections’, choose what the app watches for.

  7. Under ‘Where will you be working?’, choose your location. You only see this step if you can choose.

  8. Under ‘Until what time do you expect to be working?’, choose the time you expect to finish.

  9. Add a photo of a landmark, or tap Skip.

  10. Check the summary and tap Start session.

When you see ‘You are being protected’, the session is running. You can lock your phone. The notification bar shows ‘Work session active’, with your end time and the time until the next check-in.

Which detections there are

  • Fall detection: asks if you are okay after a hard fall.

  • Periodic check-in: asks if you are okay after a set time. Under ‘Frequency’, you choose how often.

  • Lying still: asks if you are okay when your phone lies still or flat for a long time.

During the session

When the app asks ‘Is everything alright?’, you have 20 seconds. Tap I'm okay. If you do not respond, an alarm goes to the emergency responders. To let them know in between that everything is fine, tap Check in now.

If you need help yourself, hold Emergency alarm for three seconds. If you are in another app, use the floating button. After an alarm, the screen shows what is happening with your alarm. Only your emergency responders can resolve the alarm.

If you have no signal, you see ‘No signal’ and your alarm cannot get through right now. The app sends the alarm as soon as there is signal again.

Ending the session

  1. Tap End at the top right.

  2. Hold Hold to end until the button is full.

Do you not see Lone worker mode on the Presence tab? Add it back via Profile and Manage quick actions. If it is not there either, ask your admin to switch on Lone Worker for you.
