Since Android 11 and higher, there is a feature in the phone. Because of that feature Safeguard has to check less often whether you are present at the location.

This setting is called 'physical activity'. When enabling physical activity for Safeguard, the phone will only check your presence when the phone is moving.

If the phone stays in the same place, the phone will not do a location update. After all, you were already present at the last location update, so you will still be.

This saves battery, because the phone does not have to do a new location update.

You can enable this feature by following the steps below:

  1. Open the phone's settings

  2. Go to applications

  3. Search for Safeguard

  4. Press permissions

  5. Press physical activity

  6. Select 'allow' here, as in the example below

Physical activity for Safeguard is now enabled.
