iPhones have a functionality in the phone that reduces the need for Safeguard to check if you are at the location.

This setting is called 'Motion & Fitness'. By enabling Motion & Fitness for Safeguard, the phone will only check if you are present when the phone moves.

When the phone remains in the same place, it will not update its location. After all, you were already present at the last location update, so it is assumed that you still are.

Because the phone does not need to update its location, this saves battery life.
